I am so excited to be creating the perfect backyard living space for summer! I can't wait for warmer weather to be here so I can ENJOY it!! Want to create one too?

Here is my YouTube video explaining how I decorated.
6 Steps for Creating the Perfect Backyard Living Space
Step 1- A gazebo
helps to define the space. Plus it adds protection from the sun. Here is a great gazebo we got at Costco. Make sure and check out my review on this gazebo below.
Step 2 - Bring in your big furniture.
Your furniture will help to define the space as well. I wanted this area to be left open towards the pool for easy access. View Details on our pool here. To do that I arranged sectional and chairs from Article in a horse shoe shape. Articles couch is nice and oversized, I am sure we will use it for seating as well as sleeping. These chairs brought in a fun texture but still went with the sectional. I have had these chairs for 3 years and look how awesome they look.

Step 3 - Add pillows.
Pillows help to bring a cozy warmth to the space as well as an added texture. I used 2 different ones to fill in this corner and then these fun lumbar one on either side. To help bring the whole space together I used the same lumbar ones on the chairs . I got these at Target, I will link all the item below.

Step 4 - Add plants.
Both faux and real. Plants are a great way to bring in more color and textures. I love the look of this lavender tree next to this pot full of lots of flowers. The pots also add a fun texture to the space. I went with black and a woven pot to bring match the furniture. This tree is faux and the perfect piece for behind the sofa to help bring your eye up
Step 5 - Add a Rug
A great way to bring the entire space together is with a rug. I love Ruggable rugs because they are washable and can easily be spot cleaned. Another great thing about a rug is to bring in color. I love the colors in this rug and to bring the colors out of the rug I coordinated it with my pillows.

Step 6 - Lights…
Don’t forget the lights. This is so important for night time parties. Add some solar lights, so they flip on every night and then charge during the day. Lights are also a fun design element even when they are off. They don’t give off tons of light so I also added these lights around the gazebo. Look how awesome they look at night!

I hope this has helped you to create a fun outdoor space you can enjoy. All sources are linked below.
