Let's begin with the backyard! Some might think that your backyard space doesn't need any light source besides your porch lights. However, if you want to have a usable outdoor space in the summer evenings, additional light fixtures are a good idea.
Solar Fence Lights
These solar fence lights are essential for providing pathway lights when it is dark, especially when you have kids roaming the backyard in the evening. I love these lights because the solar panel on the top provides power to the rechargeable batteries everyday.
Plus, they give just the right amount of soft glow without being too overpowering.
They are very easy to install with 2 different options. Option 1 you can use the 2 screw holes on the top for a more permanent installation. Or you can use the provided 3M pad. This is the option I used to installed my lights. So far they have stayed in place nicely.
And they are a great option for illuminating stairs by providing more deck lights up to the back porch. I would recommend installing these lights on the outside edge. This will make it so no one trips over them or kicks them off.
Hanging Outdoor Lights
I love to hang different lights on our outdoor structures. We use two different styles in our pergola area by our liner pool.
These solar power starburst pendant lights are some of my favorite outdoor accessories. They have 8 different settings and also come with a remote control. Another fun option for a gathering space may be considering hanging solar lanterns.
Hanging solar lights can take any outdoor gathering up a notch while providing a beautiful ambiance. Not to mention, they're very easy to use. All you need to do is hang them, charge them in the sun, and then use the remote to choose between different settings and get the right lighting for your outdoor space. From a casual get-together to a romantic evening with your special someone, these solar lights can make your outdoor gatherings a hit.
Outdoor string lights are awesome for their subtle glow and decorative appeal. What better way to light up your outdoor living space than with mood lighting to set the tone.
Best Outdoor Lighting Ideas
Now let's talk about landscape lighting.

A wide range of outdoor light fixtures to choose from, including LEDs, solar, spotlights and more, ensures there is something to suit any style and budget.
Lighting for Garden Beds
I have two different types of lights in my flower beds. Smaller solar garden lights like these spot lights are the best ways to accent tree trunks or go in planters.
They provide an excellent source of light, while also being energy efficient and cost effective. This is especially important when you're dealing with a large number of plants and flowers, as making sure each one is well-lit can become expensive quickly if you're using traditional electrical lighting. Additionally, the small, portable size of solar garden lights makes them incredibly easy to install or move around as needed.
These larger spot lights have a bigger solar panel so they are brighter and last longer for outdoor use. They have a high and low option for an easy way to adjust the lighting.
The lights also have motion sensor technology, ensuring that they switch on as soon as it's dark outside. This way, you won't have to worry about coming home in the dark. They also flip off in the morning as to not wasting energy by leaving the lights on.
These lights are not so bright that they blind you. But, they are bright enough to accent landscaping or any design elements on your home.
Solar Path Lights
Have you ever considered using ground lights to light up the pathway to your front door? Solar path lights are a great way to welcome your guests at night.
I have lined our front walkway with these cool lights providing a focal point on our boxwoods. Not only do these landscape lights feature our shrubs, but they also provide a stunning visual interest that highlights the path to our home.
