Use a favorite color to celebrate with these purple theme party ideas.

Are you looking for the perfect purple birthday party? Want to make the special day memorable for your little one? You have come to the right place! Themed birthday parties are a fun way to make birthdays unique, and purple is the perfect color for a rainbow of activities.

Enjoy all sorts of ideas to help you plan a magnificent purple birthday from purple decorations to purple cake and treats. With a little bit of creativity and planning, you can design an unforgettable purple-themed party for all to enjoy. Let’s get the party started!

Sofia the First Birthday Party

When my little girl turned 2, we threw her a Sofia the First birthday party. This show was on repeat at our house for a very long time. As such,  this party involved a color scheme of all things purple.

Purple Party Supplies

Birthday Balloons

For a baby girl or baby boy, it's easy to keep the party supplies simple. We opted for different shades of purple balloons to add more color. Balloons are easy to tie on to tables and chairs and make for a simple decoration accent anywhere. You can also try a DIY balloon garland, arch or column for a little more pizzazz.

Paper Products and Hanging Decor

I also like to use utensils that are the same color purple, as well as napkins and paper plates. You can pick up these items for pretty cheap at a dollar store or even in the Walmart party section. Feel free to use colored streamers or purple lanterns if you have the space.

Treat Ideas for Purple Birthday Party

As you know, I love to make treats for parties and family events, like we did for my husband's 40th birthday party. Picking and making delicious food is half the fun of party planning whether it's treat bags or appetizers. Take a look at all my delicious party delectables for ideas on completing your next party bash.

Dipped Pretzels

Having something salty and sweet is a great way to balance out all of the sugary goodies. I lightly dipped pretzels in purple chocolate. You can use any kind of pretzels for this. Stick pretzels would be cute placed in a fun jar and dipped in purple sprinkles for a little something extra.

Cupcakes

Cupcakes or cake are a great addition for your purple birthday party. I made the cupcakes and frosting. A simple swirl and a splash of white pearl sprinkles was enough to make them look elegant and princess like. I found the toppers here.

Sugar Cookies

To compliment the party theme, I made sugar cookies that looked like purple flowers. These are a nice option for someone who doesn't like an abundance of sweet.

Dessert Pops

What party is complete without some adorable marshmallow pops or cake pops? My neighbor made some adorable dessert pops with striped purple paper straws and sprinkles. She is AMAZING and spares no detail on them. Every one is hand dipped and individually wrapped.

Themed Birthday party treats

These would also be a fun option to include in take home treat boxes for your guest!

Cake pop treats

Purple Taffy

As another option, you can also find additional treats in purple hues to compliment your party table. Fill them in decorative dishes or bowls with other finger foods. This purple taffy is so good and I happened to find it at the grocery store.

Purple treats

Of course, the presentation of the food is just as important as the flavors. Take the time to arrange everything nicely on a platter or large plate, and make sure everything looks appetizing and inviting. By taking the time to select the right basic party essentials, you can be sure your guests will have a great time enjoying your party dishes. Shop my favorite party essentials here

I love your party table and the balloon backdrop. Beautiful!

May I ask where you got the cupcake toppers? The "Happy Birthday Princess" one in the photo is one I designed and made available for free download from http://www.733blog.com but I don't recognize the others.
