Fun Ideas for Car Birthday Decorations
Our little Boston loves anything auto related. Whether it's vintage cars, Pixar Cars or driving his own cars around the house, he is obsessed. Pointing out all the cool vehicles on the road? Yep, he does that too. So what better way to celebrate his love of all things auto inclined than with a fun car-themed extravaganza?
Let's take a look at all the easy ideas to throw a car-theme birthday bash.
Vintage Car Decor
If you want to throw a car party, using classic car birthday decorations is a stylish way to go. I found this gas pump. I almost didn't buy it at the time, but I am so glad I did. This is one of my favorite pieces that I used to decorate Little Buddy's room.
Name Sign Backdrop
I have been wanting to make Boston a sign to go above his bed and this party was the perfect excuse to finally get it done. I used my United States cutout, cut out his name in a larger size and glued it to the front.
If you love the classic style with a rustic flair, a sign like this is the perfect decor piece. Plus, driving across America fits in really well with our vintage car theme and color scheme. Classic car signs are another good option for a backdrop.
Car Birthday Decorations Using Balloons or Garland
What type of party would it be without some kind of balloon decoration? You can head on over to your local Party City store or a Zurchers for single balloons. Sometimes you can even find some cheap balloons at your local dollar store or even Amazon here. But another awesome option is to make your own DIY balloon garland or arch.
Because of time constraints I kept our balloons simple and matched them to our other decor. I tied them to either side of our decor table to frame the space. Metallic balloons would also be really fun for a car theme party.
Cars Themed Cake Track
For every party, there should be a themed dessert as part of your decor. If you are running short on time, a preorder item from the bakery will save you stress. My husband ordered this cupcake cake from a local bakery. If you go this route, make sure to have an early pickup date in case something goes wrong.
This type of dessert is absolutely genius! While you have the option of cake, it eliminates the mess of needing to cut individual pieces. You can even add ice cream and you are good to go! Don't forget to include car plates and car napkins for serving.
The Cars race track theme is super fun and all of the kids loved taking the track apart for their dessert.
Colored Desserts
One of the best hacks I use for parties is to incorporate dessert and treats as part of the decor. I did it with my daughter's birthday candy charcuterie and with my other daughter's birthday donut dash party.
Start by grabbing treats that will go with your color theme, in this case our car birthday decorations. If you can't find product availability in store, order a few things online. Just make sure the estimated shipping date isn't too far out. For colored theme candy, I found the blue Sixlets and colored taffy at from Amazon. The small green candies are Frooties that I picked up with the cake.
Store your goodies on display in apothecary jars or other glass containers so they are visible car birthday decorations. It's a good idea to have car party cups or treat bags for guests to take a few home.
