How to Decorate a Marvel Christmas Tree
The Avengers Christmas tree can serve as a fun and creative way to bring out the superhero in your home this Christmas season. Chances are, if you have read Marvel comics or if you are a Marvel fan of the movies, you will love these Christmas tree ideas. This was the perfect tree theme to go in my son's room.
First you are going to set up your Marvel Christmas tree. Make sure to include a tree skirt or a tree collar of some sort. Depending on if this tree is for a boy or girl, you may want to adjust your tree base. I used a neutral basket, but if you like a different style, feel free to check out our tree skirt guide for more options.
Start With Lights and Color Scheme
Begin by choosing a vibrant color scheme. The lights you pick for the best visual appeal always matter in your overall theme. Red and green are the classic colors associated with traditional Christmas, but you can add some extra flair to your tree by adding a bright yellow or electric blue to the mix.
For example, if your child really loves the Hulk, you may want to go with green lights to reflect that character. Or if you love the Black Panther, a purple light theme might be more suitable.
I chose to go with a red and blue theme to reflect my son's favorite characters. He loves Captain America as well as Spiderman. We found accompanying red and blue twinkly lights for a low price to create just the right color scheme on display.
Wind your lights around branches and tuck them in so that there are limited cords sticking out of the tree.
Add Ball Ornaments to Marvel Christmas Tree
Is there such a thing as the perfect Christmas ornament? Maybe not, but one of the best ways to add style and dimension to your Christmas tree is by using distinct shapes or a variety of sizes. Even ornaments with a unique design are ideal because it adds texture and visual appeal to your tree.
After adding Christmas lights, I began with placing large, shatterproof ball ornaments in vibrant red. These are super fun because they take up a lot of space and provide strong contrasts with the size of the other ornaments. The oversize large ornaments make some of the best ornaments for their versatility in all Christmas decor. I also incorporated a few red ornaments of varying shapes for variety.
And we included shimmery blue ornaments in different textures to add some sparkle. You can view detail of all that lovely exterior texture below. It makes for unique designs and bounces the light off the finish to create more dimension.
Marvel Christmas Tree Character Ornaments
Long gone are the days of Mickey Mouse around here. Instead, Little Buddy is always on the hunt to collect his favorite family Christmas ornaments to add to his tree each year. To complete our Avenger tree, we found several Marvel ornaments in all of his favorite characters.
However, depending on available items, you can also use action figures that you already own if you are lacking in the ornament department. How many super hero Marvel characters can you see in this tree? It's pretty fun to try and spy them all.
Touch it Up With Ribbon
For the finishing touches on the Marvel Christmas tree, I opted to use something else in place of garland. I normally love to add strands of garland in, but because this is a smaller tree I opted for satin ribbon randomly tied to branches.
We cut small strands of red ribbon and tied them in knots along strategic places on the tree. This is a simple way to add elegance and great value to a tree without actually spending a lot.
Room Accents
To complete the holiday palette in this room, I added a red toss pillow and a red throw blanket to Little Buddy's DIY bunk bed. I also incorporated a Santa's letter box and some cute nutcrackers on display to compliment our Marvel Christmas tree.
