I get so excited for Christmas every year and I may take the decorating a bit too far? It's not just the living room or kitchen that deserves Christmas spirit. The bedroom must become a cozy Christmas retreat too!
A farmhouse Christmas bedroom is all about blending charm with holiday magic. There is nothing quite like crawling into bed at night surrounded by the charm of a farmhouse Christmas bedroom.
Start With a Sign Above the Bed
A simple holiday sign instantly sets the tone and makes a big impact. Choose one that matches your style:
- Classic Red: Think bold lettering with sayings like “O Holy Night” or “Meet me under the mistletoe”

- Neutral Tones: Opt for whitewashed wood or soft black lettering with phrases like “Silent Night” for a subtle farmhouse touch.

Add a Christmas Tree
Yes, a tree in the bedroom! It doesn’t have to be full-sized. I have used a slim pencil tree next to our bed. I have also centered one inbetween our chairs in the seating room.

Don't have that much space? Even a tabletop tree works beautifully. I do love a naked Christmas tree, or you can keep it simple with neutral ornaments, or go bold with red accents.
Adding Greenery to Light Fixtures
Adding greenery or a garland to a light fixture is a simple way to bring farmhouse Christmas charm to your bedroom.

Whether you have a chandelier, pendant light, or even a wall sconce, draping it with fresh or faux greenery instantly adds warmth and texture.
Hang Stockings
Why limit stockings to the fireplace? I love to incorporate stockings into our bedroom decor. I have hung them on a bed frame, dresser, or even the nightstand. It’s a charming way to bring holiday tradition into the bedroom.

Incorporate Wooden Bowls or Crates
Use baskets or vintage crates to hold extra blankets, pillows, or even small wrapped gifts. They add texture while keeping the space tidy and festive.

Style a Decorative Tray for the Bed
Add a wooden tray to your bed for both function and style. This is a fun way to easily take your room to the next level. It is also easy to move at night, just pick it up and place it on your dresser until morning.

Layer it with candles, a small tree, or a mug for hot cocoa. It’s the perfect mix of cozy and farmhouse chic.
Add Christmas Throw Pillows
Swap out your everyday pillows for festive ones. It doesn't have to be all of your pillows. It can be as simple as adding in a red lumbar pillow.

Or, you can mix and match with different sizes and textures. I like to use plaid patterns, faux fur or even reindeer silhouettes.
Toss on a Christmas Throw
One of the easiest ways to add Christmas chars is with a throw blanket at the end of the bed. This can include a chunky knit throw, a red plaid blanket, or a faux fur throw that makes the whole space feel inviting and seasonal.

Add a Holiday Wreath
Hang a small wreath above the bed, on the door, or even on the closet doors. A simple evergreen wreath with a bow feels perfectly farmhouse.
Add a Garland
Have an extra garland laying around? Consider draping it along the headboard, across a mirror, or above the window.

For farmhouse style you can go with a flocked garland or natural greenery mixed with pinecones, bells, or burlap ribbon. Just be mindful, as I learned the hard way, flocking can end up in your bed.
Update Your Nightstand Décor
Switch out your everyday decor with festive touches. One of my favorite ways to add Christmas is to add a small mini tree. It can usually just be added to your regular decor. This brings in the holiday spirit but keeps it nice and simple.

Farmhouse Christmas Bedroom
Your farmhouse Christmas bedroom should feel like your own cozy holiday retreat. This of it as a place where the magic of the season wraps around you.
With festive textures, twinkling lights, and meaningful festive accents, you can create a space that feels warm, inviting, and perfectly peaceful. This year, imagine climbing into bed surrounded by holiday charm, soft glow, and all the spirit of Christmas right in your own room.
