Buffalo Check Christmas Tree

Buffalo Check Christmas Tree

DIY & Crafts, Holiday Decorating & Crafts

My dear mom decided to redecorate her tree. She had bought some black and red buffalo check wrapping paper she used for her inspiration to create a buffalo check Christmas tree theme. After taking a trip to Home Goods, we hit the jackpot.  We found black and red buffalo check ornaments, some trees, ribbon and pillows.  We did get some other fun items to fill in and break up the buffalo check and fill in the gaps.

A Buffalo Check Christmas Tree

  • Add Ribbon

I started this tree with ribbon first. Post here. I like to use 2 different types of ribbon. In this case I used the red buffalo check ribbon and a black and white striped ribbon to tie all the colors I would be using together.

  • Incorporate solid colors

We didn’t want to over do the buffalo check so we also incorporated the black ornaments .. they had all of the colors we needed and they are so cute.

  • Utilize various shapes

We wanted to change things up a little bit so we tried to find other shaped like these cute Santa shoes.

  • Use light colors to brighten your space

We didn’t want to make the tree too dark so we also looked for white ornaments.  We found some fun wreaths, snowflakes and white balls.

  • Add a handmade item!

My mom also made these cute peace ornaments with the bows.  I love to add a handmade item

  • Create dimension with branches or berries

To break things up a bit I added glittered branches to poke out of the tree and some branches with white balls on them as well.

This cute buffalo check tree and pillow are fun additions to complete the look.

I love how it turned out!
