Gather Your Ingredients
First things first, gather your ingredients to get started on making these delicious chocolate Easter bunny pretzels. You will need:
- A bag of square salty pretzels like pretzel snaps
- White chocolate melting wafers or white candy melts - these hold up better, but in a pinch you could use white chocolate chips
- Pastel Easter m&m's
- Edible marker
How to Make Chocolate Easter Bunny Pretzels
Food Prep
First, pre-heat the oven to 250 degrees. Next, cut m&m's in half with a knife, for the ears of your pretzel bunnies.
Place a baker's mat or parchment paper on a large baking sheet. You'll want to space out the square pretzels on your cookie sheet.
Melt the Chocolate Topping
Add a white chocolate candy melt to the center of the pretzel. Place in the oven on 250 for 5 minutes, or until chocolate is slightly melted. You want the chocolate to be soft enough that you can press candy into it, but not so soft that it is losing shape.
You can also use milk chocolate or dark chocolate if that is what you preferred. I love the white chocolate background against the pastel candy coloring. I advise against using chocolate chips unless you have no other option because it will be harder to hold the round disc shape.
Decorate Pretzel Bunnies
As soon as the chocolate comes out of the oven, it's time to add an Easter m&m, followed by two bunny ears. No fancy skills required. If your fingers are getting covered in chocolate, you could also use a pair of tweezers or mini tongs to place the candies.
Let Them Set
Place the tray in the fridge to cool when you are done decorating. Then after everything has cooled, use an edible marker to draw faces on each bunny.
Once you have finished decorating your Easter bunny pretzels, allow them to set on the baking sheet before serving. This delicious spring treat is the perfect indulgence of sweet and salty.
Store for Later
If you have any leftover Easter bunny pretzels, you can easily store them for later by placing them in an airtight container or resealable bag. Simply store them at room temperature or in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. And it might not hurt to hide them from eager little hands who want to sneak a few before you're ready to share!
As you savor the last bite of your chocolatey creations, remember that these treats make a delightful gift or addition to any Easter celebration. Share the joy with friends and family, or simply indulge in a sweet moment of self-care. Whether you choose to store them for later or devour them on the spot, these chocolate Easter bunny pretzels are sure to bring smiles all around.
