How to Celebrate Easter At Home
Just because you are celebrating Easter Sunday at home doesn't mean that you can't enjoy the day. What better way to celebrate this special day than with family and friends with flexibility and fun at home. And because our Easter party is at home, I do like to have some fun Easter activities available for my kids to do.
And while we do enjoy decorating and dying colorful Easter eggs, I'm a fan of coming up with other ways to decorate eggs that don't require making a huge mess of your kitchen. I've compiled a list of family friendly Easter activities that are adorable, fun, and easy to manage with the kiddos.
Easy Easter Crafts
Cotton Ball Sheep
How about a super fun sheep made from 2x6s and cotton balls? This is a fun Easter craft for kids of all ages, plus it's a great way to put those leftover wood or craft supplies to good use.
Supplies Needed:
- 2x6 or 2x4 cut down to 10 inches tall
- Black acrylic paint
- Hot glue
- Hot glue gun
- Cotton balls
- Craft brush
- Craft paper or felt for face
Cut down your wood to about 10 inches tall. Then, paint the wood all black with acrylic paint.
Once it is dry, use a hot glue gun and start attaching cotton balls all over the place. Make sure to leave a little opening for the face.
For the face and ears I used left over felt, but you could easily use paper, fabric or anything else you have around the house. Super easy craft.
Egg Ornaments
This Easter tree with salt dough Easter eggs is easy to make for your at home Easter decor. These decorative eggs take a little bit of time to make, making them a great day craft for the spring season. While the ornaments cook, they can hunt for branches outside to hang their eggs on.
Once completed, the kiddos will love to have this as part of their table setting for their Easter brunch or dinner. It is a great activity for getting the older kids involved too.
Baby Chick Craft
And these cute baby chick crafts made with yarn are fun for the little ones. They can make fun patterns with the yarn or just wrap away. You can try out this same idea and make an Easter bunny too.
Easter Egg Slime
This homemade Easter egg slime is going to be a winner, for sure! If you don't want to dye eggs, why not try making Easter eggs at home with slime? This is an easy craft idea for filling up those plastic eggs with an activity instead of traditional Easter candy.
Edible Easter Crafts
There seems to be nothing more appealing than edible Easter crafts for children. These Easter food ideas are always a hit because it combines a fun craft with eating.
Marshmallow Craft
Homemade edible Easter marshmallows hit the best of both worlds for my kiddos. It is fun to play around with food coloring and letting them choose how to do the facial features.
