When I think of a lantern I think of light and candles.  Which is a good thing, but they can be so much more in decor!!  Let's talk about some fun ways to use lanterns in your decor!

Fun Ways to Use Lanterns in Your Decor

First up the standard way.  Which honestly I obviously like since these are on my porch.  For outside lanterns I like to use metal, they seem to hold up better against the weather.  View similar metal lanterns here

Vases and Plants

To add color I like to use vases and fill them with flowers.  You can use any vase, each one will give you a different look.  Like this tall vase with fun details or the glass vase that can't be seem as well.

Lanterns even work great as centerpieces.  Notice how I added peonies to the inside of the lantern to tie it in to the whole tablescape.  I love the wood and metal mix of these lanterns!  View similar ones here

It is fun to use 2 different sized lanterns as well for a simple centerpiece.  Sometimes I don't want too much color so I will just added a little greenery to the inside.  It helps to pull the whole look together.

They work great alone too.   This lantern is a little larger so it is a perfect space filler.

Fill them with something

Filling your lantern with items help to really bring them into your decor.  These lanterns filled with Christmas Ornaments always help add color into my decor and look how cute they are.

Bring a lantern into your kitchen by filling them with limes.... or lemons or any fruit for that matter.
