It is DONE DONE DONE!! I love when I can check a room off my list, but it is even better when I LOVE IT!!
Well, what began as a project to incorporate a piano changed into a different formal living room from what I envisioned, but I absolutely love it! I am not going to lie I was a little worried about incorporating pink into this living room. I love pink, I always have loved pink... but, pink can be hard. I didn't want it to be too girlie. I used this rug from RugsUSA for inspiration and are you ready to see how I added color? Here we go!
Living Room Colors
How about some pink chairs to get this party started? When I found these chairs at Home Goods I at first only brought one home thinking my hubby would veto the idea of a pink chair, but he actually went back and got the other one so we could create the perfect little sitting area here! To make sure the pink was not too overwhelming I also pulled the navy and yellow out of my rug. Decorating with 3 colors is always a good idea. They help to balance each other out.
I made this reclaimed wood sign to match our room, I do sell these in my Shop here. We will also sell the kits to make your own tile sign here, so you can do whatever colors you want!
Furniture
I wanted to keep my main pieces of furniture neutral so I selected this White Couch. (shop pillow here)
As well as this ivory chair and pouf from Birch Lane. They tie in all of my accents and decor beautifully.
Lighting
This beautiful starburst light is from Lighting Design and it is the perfect element for this room. It is fun and I love the way the gold pops off of my grey walls!
Lighting is becoming a fun design element to lots of rooms. When you are selecting your own light don't be afraid to have a little fun with it!
My Hutch
This was my very first hutch. I had always wanted a hutch, but we couldn't afford to buy one. So I splurged and paid $135 for this thing. It didn't look like this when I brought it home (see before here). It was an ugly yellow color. I sanded it all down and refinished it. At the time I was leaning toward painting it turquoise, but since I felt like this was a big nice piece I would keep forever I wanted to keep it neutral but add color. To add color I painted the back turquoise and I am so happy I only did the back because to make this hutch go with my new decor all I had to do was pop the back out and paint it navy! I love how the back makes the milk glass pop!
I created this sign to match the pattern on the doors of the hutch, we will also be selling these cutouts soon!!
Decor Accents
I picked up these vases at Target, on sale!! (you can get them here) I've been finding so many good things there lately!
I got these darling beads from my friend Kristi, you can shop them here
I also found this clock at a garage sale and I painted it grey to match!
I hope you enjoy this final living room reveal as much as I had fun putting it together! Happy decorating!
