With all this extra time we now have at home, I hope you were able to take a glance through our latest blog posts on home design. A week or so ago I shared ideas for creating DIY wood wall treatments. If you missed it, you can take a gander here at the awesome designs. Today I want to share ideas for finding the perfect ceiling design. Ceiling, you ask? Yep. Ceiling. Gone are the days of boring drywall and ugly popcorn ceilings. Ceiling design has taken on a whole new meaning and I have a few I think you’ll really like.
Choosing A Ceiling Design That’s Right for You
I love the wood design portrayed in each little alcove of the ceiling. Mixing white woodwork with natural wood is a very classy look. The link wasn’t working with this picture, so unfortunately I do not have a source.
White ceilings be gone! I am loving this dark wood ceiling. I may end up doing something similar to this in my son’s room. I love that the room is still so bright and lit, yet the accented ceiling provides just enough design element to make it an incredible space!
Here is another option for planking your ceiling, including a tutorial for planking a popcorn ceiling!
These coffered ceilings may be more traditional, but they are not any less classy.
And how about adding some wood beams to accent your space? I LOVE wood beams so much. They can add so much character to your room and dress it down or dress it up. Source here.
But now let’s take those wood beams one step further to this amazing beauty! Solid single beams are gorgeous, but I am loving this design even more! Source not currently working.
Don’t let the dark beams turn you away from this look if you really don’t love the darker wood colors. White beams can be just as elegant and sometimes more fitting for your designed space.
Adding a bright color and intricate design like this isn’t painful to look at either. This gorgeous design could easily be imitated with painter’s tape if you aren’t able to add the trimmed design.
This ceiling design is simple, yet very eye-catching with the large spherical light fixture hanging from it. I love that your eye is drawn to the square shape in the middle.
If herringbone patterns are your thing, don’t be hesitant to try it on your ceiling like pictured in this kitchen. A herringbone pattern like this can really bring a nice accent to a neutral colored kitchen.
