When it comes to decor in my kitchen, a simple fall kitchen is priority in this house. There is nothing worse than having fall decorations all over the kitchen countertops when you are trying to cook. An organized and clean kitchen with minimal seasonal decor is my favorite way to style this new kitchen space.
How to Style Simple Fall Decor in the Kitchen
Create a Focal Centerpiece
A great way to showcase your kitchen fall decor is with a centerpiece. Creating a centerpiece with a tray is an easy way to display on a kitchen island or kitchen counters because a tray will allow you to conveniently remove items if needed.
I love my circular tray with handles, but you can also use items like a dough bowl or even a charcuterie board with a ledge or handle. A tiered tray would also work if you want to use small everyday items to decorate and emphasize the vertical space. For more tips on decorating with a tiered tray, head over here.
Use a neutral base in your centerpiece and then compliment with pops of color. I chose this bold black vase and filled it with golden-hued pampas grass. Isn't that fall foliage so stunning? Incorporate additional fall color palette items with other things like these beautiful velvet pumpkins and black and gold candlesticks.

Add an Interior Wreath
Displaying a fall wreath is a great addition for the autumn season. These are not only for your exterior front door! Place a wreath on an interior cupboard, door or on your range hood, like we did here. You can even hang it on an accent wall or by your dining room table. I love bringing in natural elements to the indoors.
For these simple fall touches, don't pick a spring greenery like a boxwood wreath. Instead, change it up with fall stems, grasses or a twig wreath with fall florals weaved in. You could even go more of a burlap route if that is more your style. Simple fall touches like this make a beautiful effect with the changing seasons. Shop my favorites below!
Use Fall Kitchen Counter Decor to Frame Appliances
Is your stove top unit or sink placed against the wall? Try framing that appliance with functional decorations on each side. This will not only enable you to add some needed autumn decor to balance the space, but also fulfill the need to have functional items nearby.
If you are going to put decorations on your countertop, you might as well make them functional. Your space will look more elegant and clean rather than cluttered with decor and kitchen tools. Using everyday items as decor is the easiest way to blend style with functionality when you can tie in color and design.
On one side of our stove top I added cookbooks, a butter bell, and a vase to hold the utensils. To add in a little bit of fall kitchen decorations, I placed a pitcher with maroon stems for a pop of color next to the cookbooks. Bringing in the subtle red coloring makes a big difference! Plus, it compliments the existing orange and gold tones quite nicely.
And on the other side against our white backsplash I placed a wooden cutting board, my drink syrup dispensers (because who can make it through a day without a dirty Dr Pepper?), a beautiful plant and a small canvas photo that pulls in the fall colors and brings together my cozy fall kitchen.
Have any type of open shelving or a ledge in your kitchen space? Any of these easy fall kitchen decor ideas would be perfect for using on open shelves if you don't want to take up space on your counters.
