Different Ways to Style Mirror Christmas Decorations
Wall mirrors are a great choice to add to your interior design. Display them in an entryway, a living room or even on a bedroom wall for the perfect focal point. Embellish your mirror with a bit of holiday cheer through simple ideas that can make a huge impact.
Use Ribbon to Decorate a Mirror
This wall mirror is located in our living room above the fireplace mantel. A neutral mirror is beautiful against the charcoal backdrop of the mantel wall. To place more emphasis on the neutral color scheme, a simple green ribbon is accented on the center of the mirror. If your Christmas mantel display is busy, it's a good idea to accent your mirror with less.
The minimal ribbon is the perfect contrast to a busy mantel with a traditional garland of classic greens. You can also display candles to frame around the mirror centerpiece. See more ideas on decorating your mantel here.
Ribbon is a good choice because it is both budget friendly and easy to customize. Change up your ribbon based on the holiday or season. I also love that a ribbon doesn't take up too much space on your mirror, so it can still be used for other purposes while having a little decoration.
Add an Ornament or Light Strand
Another option is to decorate a mirror with an ornament strand or Christmas lights. This is simple, but an easy way to add some shimmer to your space.
I placed a strand of hanging silver Christmas ornaments on the front of the mirror in our office. Small ornaments are a good option for providing a festive touch and creating dimension. But be careful to not completely overtake the mirror. You still want some visibility. I also added a faux garland to drape over the top for added texture.
If you don't want to hang ornaments across your mirror, you can also use jingle bells or string lights. Both would be good options for creating a stunning focal point.
Change Up the Garland
Traditional garlands are beautiful, but you can also create a high quality centerpiece by choosing something unordinary for your Christmas mantel decor ideas. I love to use garland and branches for my holiday mantel. But instead of a symmetrical option for this Christmas mirror decoration, I opted for an asymmetrical appearance to hang up my greenery. This asymmetrical garland is a modern touch to traditional decor.
Style your faux or fresh greenery off to one side of your mirror for added attention. You can also use tree branches to create a beautiful centerpiece. Because this room is busy, I opted for simplicity above the mantel.
Think Wreaths for Christmas Mirror Decoration
Wreaths are not just for hanging on your front door, though that look is absolutely fabulous and classy for winter time. You can use wreaths indoors too on your walls, or like I did here above my stove top.
But hanging up a small wreath on the large mirror in my entry way is the best place. It draws extra attention to the oversize mirror, which I propped up against the DIY wainscoting wall instead of hanging it. This makes for much easier decor. Plus, I love being able to still see the picture in the backdrop and the wreath in front. A layered effect is a great choice for creating texture and dimension.
I opted for a simple, flocked faux wreath and added a large green ribbon to dangle down the middle for this Christmas mirror decoration. The flocked wreath and ribbon coordinate well with the additional green branches and flocked stems with pine cones. Take any opportunity you can to carry your color scheme evenly throughout your decorative display.

Bathroom Mirror Decorations
Adding a spray of branches on the top of the mirror brings in the perfect amount of Christmas.
To create this look you will need 4 full stems, 2 for each side. I zip tied them together in the middle. Complete the look with a red ribbon in the middle.
Other Ideas for Your Own Christmas Decorations
- Add holiday flowers like red poinsettias
- Tie on winter branches or berries
- Go bold in your colors with red ribbon
- Add fairy lights around the edge of your mirror frame
- Pair your mirror with a holiday picture or printable
When it comes to Christmas mirror decorations, there are endless creative possibilities. If you’re looking for a classic style, opt for some lovely holly clusters or perhaps a festive wreath adorned with pine cones, berries, and ribbons. By contrast, if modern is more your style, think geometric shapes with star accents or a sparkly reindeer cut-out. Whatever design you choose, a Christmas mirror decoration is sure to bring a touch of the festive season into your home.
