Design Ideas for a White and Wood Bathroom
Floating Vanity
When it comes to bathroom vanities, a floating vanity is an excellent choice for modern wood and white bathroom ideas. I love floating vanities and wanted to incorporate it somewhere in my house. As I sat down with Foxwood cabinetry, we brainstormed some ideas and came up with this modern style master bathroom.
The wooden vanity is natural quarter sawn white oak with a special top coat that Foxwood uses for cabinets to not go yellow. The cabinetry color scheme in the middle is painted with Chalk White by Benjamin Moore.
Hardware for White Bathroom Designs
This hardware is from D Lawless. The faucet is by Brizo and all of the bathroom fixtures, tubs and toilets are from Great Western in Ogden, Utah.
Since we have 10 foot ceilings on our main floor, a larger than normal mirror was needed to help fill the space. I found this mirror from Wayfair with beautiful clean lines. It comes in lots of different dimensions to fit almost any space.
The sconces are from Progress lighting. I wanted to keep my lighting simple to help bring everything together.
Flooring Details
My white tile flooring is First Snow marble from Daltile. I love the soft pattern in these marble tiles with the slight gold accent. If you are looking for bathroom elegance, crisp white walls with beautiful marble floor tiles is a great combination. I clean my marble floors this way, and it always leaves them looking brand new.
And I can't forget about the vent under the vanity from Aria Vents. These vents are unique because you can stick your own flooring in them (tutorial here) to showcase a variety of styles.
Bathtub for White and Wood Bathroom
A modern freestanding bathtub is exactly what I wanted as a beautiful design element in this space. When your many of your room design is featured in crisp whites, each piece you pick should be used as a strategic focal point. A tub is a great item to showcase in a white space.
This tub is on the large size to fit my 6'4" tall husband. This is the Bridgitte Seamless Whitley freestanding bathtub by Mansfield. My freestanding tub filler is also from Brizo.
For additional lighting accents over the tub we chose a chandelier from Progress Lighting. We did pass our final inspection having a light fixture hanging.
And the blinds above the tub are from Blinds Chalet. These are the premium light filtering roller shade. The reverse roll makes it so you can't see the roller. I love how they filter the light but still give a clean look.
Shower for White and Wood Bathroom
To really emphasize the open space and natural materials with our white interior, we opted for a glass shower. A large shower was necessary for height and space, so glass shower walls helped the space feel more open and modern. The shower is approximately 5' x 5' with 8' tall glass that is frameless.
To help keep this space clean, I spray everything with rain X and then use this squeegee every time we get out of the shower. It works like magic!
The black box in the shower is a Moen U. It controls our shower and communicates with Alexa as well. For example, we can say "Alexa turn on master bathroom to 108 degrees" and she will heat up our shower and let us know when it is ready. You can also control it in the shower. How about that for a modern touch?
We chose the Brizo rain head for our interior. Gold faucets and hardware are a stunning accent when tying in wood and white. We did make our shower head higher than standard because we are taller people. I also like having the Brizo bar for shaving my legs or for days I don't wash my hair.
The bench in the shower is from Home Goods.
Organizing
Now let's talk basic organization! I love having the tower in the middle of our wood vanities and marble countertop. It holds all the extras and is so easy to access. We also put plugs in there for easy access that can be hidden. My husband also loves using the plugs to charge his razors. This can be a good option for hiding your heat tools as well, especially if you don't have a lot of countertop in a smaller space.
To organize my drawers I use these amazing clear containers I found on Amazon. They are a great deal and have the rubber pads on the bottom so they don't slide around.
You can see more detailed storage organization in our wood vanity and cabinet here as we learned to use the space better.
If you want a few bathroom essentials, don't forget about a toothpaste holder. We added these to all of our vanities. I love having my toothpaste and toothbrushes in the cabinets instead of sitting out on the counter or getting tangled with hair brushes or makeup.
