This article will provide some budget-friendly ways to tackle the clutter and create a space your moody teen girl will love.
9 Options for Teenage Girl Bedroom Organization to Keep the Clutter Out
Growing up, most of the teens in our house shared a bathroom. More often than not, that meant that all of the supplies for getting ready were stored in your bedroom to free up bathroom space. What better way to house all of your things than with a few organization ideas to provide some extra storage space.
Take a look at the best ways to clear the clutter and junk while providing enough space for your teen to thrive in their personal sanctuary.
Countertop Makeup Organizer
When it comes to teenage girl bedroom organization, this countertop makeup organizer is a great way to do some clean up, especially if you are lacking in available drawer space. Instead of throwing everything in a drawer or scattered on top of the counter, my daughter prefers this because she can cart her items easily from bathroom to bedroom with the rotating handle. You can see my bathroom drawer organization here.
This makeup holder can fit almost all of her everyday items, from tall bottles to palettes of eye make up. The drawers are nice because you still get organization within the small unit. And we also love that the lid can close and keep everything dry, tidy and somewhat hidden.
Plus, don't forget about style appeal! Aesthetics are really important. My daughter loves the modern design of this with the gold trim and upright carrier. She definitely loves that it ties in so well to her black and white vanity area.
Teenage Girl Bedroom Organization for Jewelry
Does your teen love all kinds of jewelry? This two tier T bar stand is a fun way to store all sorts of necklaces, watches and bracelets in an organized space.
But what I really love is that because it is portable, we can leave this out as a cute display on a dresser or hide it away in a closet. And again, who doesn't love a fun, modern design? The acrylic and transparent holder is easy to clean and blends in well with any bedroom design.
Brush Holder for Makeup
My other daughter has a larger makeup collection so she uses quite a few more things. She loves this makeup brush holder that can sit on the counter in her boho vanity bathroom, taking up a small amount of vertical space rather than eating into her limited drawer space.
This container keeps all of her brushes nice, clean and upright, while hiding them at the same time. Simply rotate the container top for easy access in and out. Plus, there are a lot of cute colors to match your bathroom design too.
Swivel Mirror for Teenage Girl Bedroom Organization
If you are limited to a small room for bathroom space, looking into something like this full-length mirror with extra space for storage is a nice way to go. Her bathroom doesn't have a ton of floor space, so putting an upright mirror in her boho bedroom is a great place for it. However, I wanted to make sure it had some storage options too so she could keep her desk top and dresser clean.
Built-in storage space like this is awesome! Not only does this rotating mirror have easy reach open shelves on the back side, but the whole front of the mirror opens to reveal a shelving unit with tons of optional storage. Talk about an all-in-one organizer!
There is plenty of room to hang jewellery from earrings to hooks for necklaces and bracelets. Plus, plenty of shelf space to house lotions, nail polishes and other similar items. I love it when bedroom decor can also have a useful function because valuable storage space like this is hard to find. Having a teenager's bedroom be this clean just may take the cake for a perfect bedroom.
Built-in Closet Drawer Organizers
If you have the space in your closet, building in closet organizers is a good idea for acquiring effective teenage girl bedroom organization. These built-in drawers for the closet can easily be done yourself. I used some pre-made drawer sets from Ikea and that helped with the install.
Drawers are the perfect solution to eliminating your teen's stuff from the floors. They can throw it in there and not worry about folding or making it look neat. You can also customize these to your preferred style.
Basket Closet Storage
Along with using drawers, don't forget about additional open shelving and bins or baskets that offer plenty of functional storage areas. I made sure when building these closets to incorporate open shelving that could fit storage bins. Again, this is really helpful in eliminating all the dirty clothes and junk that can end up on the floor.
Bins are a great way to go because they are easy to remove, stylish and economical. And they aren't just for clothing either. Use them for all kinds of knick knacks like storing video games, favorite books, sports equipment, etc. If you really want your teen to have an organized bedroom, the closet is the best place to start.
Dresser Organizer With Shelves
In my daughter's boho room, we added this 6 drawer closet storage. Finding a dresser like this is perfecting for combining a functional bedroom and style together. This makes her teen bedroom feel aesthetic and minimal at the same time.
She stores some basics in the drawers below and then can still style her room with some boho decor on the top shelves. This is a great way to have some design elements without all the clutter. If you can't find a dresser with built-in top shelves, you can also try installing open shelves above the dresser or on any free wall space to eliminate a cluttered tabletop.
Hanging Desk Organizer Files
Looking to add some desk organization to your teen room? My daughter really likes her simple desk, but there just wasn't enough storage. So we opted to include a few desk accessories that we mounted to the wall.
These wall-mounted desk organizers are a great option for eliminating any school supplies that might take up study space. They are also magnetic so they can easily be moved around when you are using them, then put back on the wall for easy clean up. Here are a few other options for aesthetic desk organizing.

Basket and Pouf Storage
If you want to include some bulky items in your decorating, just make sure that they are dual-purpose. In my daughter's black and white bedroom, we wanted to add a few more decorative elements. I found a pink pouf to go with her bedroom chair. This pouf opens up for additional storage, like a mini ottoman. It's a nice way to keep things out of sight for temporary use.
We also found a really cute large basket that was perfect for filling in an empty wall. Large baskets like these are great for adding style, while also solving problems of a laundry basket or a place for stacking extra blankets and pillows. This is especially handy if with limited closet space.

Organizing a teenage girl's bedroom may seem like a daunting task, but it is an important step in creating a space that reflects and supports her unique personality and needs.
