Easy Christmas Candy Charcuterie Boards That are Perfect for Hosting
One of the best things about the holiday season is being able to spend time with family and friends. And what better way to do that than by hosting a holiday party complete with delicious food and beautiful presentation.
A charcuterie board is an ideal way to feed your guests because you can do all of the prep work before hand. And another great thing? It eliminates a plethora of dishes. I'm all about simplifying my time with clean up. You only need a few dishes for a cute themed dessert charcuterie board like one of these.
- Reindeer charcuterie board
- Santa charcuterie board
- Christmas tree shaped charcuterie board
- A few mini serving bowls for smaller items
- Any serving spoons or tongs (ideal for hot chocolate charcuterie)
Let's go over each Christmas dessert charcuterie board individually to get a better idea of how to create these fun displays.
Reindeer Charcuterie Board
Most of these holiday dessert boards are simple because I was able to just grab things from the grocery store. However, you can always substitute store-bought for any homemade treats or homemade cookies if you want to put in a little bit more time.
For each of these boards I chose a fun color palette that would help to coordinate the snacks on each one. For this fun Rudolph charcuterie board, I opted for a brown and red theme and chose dessert that would include a variety of sweets and some salty. Finger foods are the easiest for these types of party boards.
Start with adding a couple small bowls onto your tray. Fill the serving bowls with smaller treats that need some kind of containment. Then, slowly start to add items surrounding the bowls. You want to make sure you include a variety of textures and different sizes for beautiful presentation.
What You'll Need
- Chocolate-covered pretzels, rod or stick version
- Regular Oreos
- Peppermint candies
- Red and green M&Ms
- White-dipped pretzels with colored drizzle
- Christmas gummies
- Cinnamon Santas
Tree Shaped Charcuterie Board
For this next dessert platter, a green theme is just what is needed. Again, begin with your holiday dessert board by adding small serving dishes and filling with bite size treats. Green M&Ms and green gummy candies are perfect for this.
A good way to plan out your treats isn't only by color. Try to incorporate contrasting food choices too, like sweet versus salty and chocolate versus fruity. Everyone's dessert tray may look a little different depending on your food preferences. A few wrapped treats allow for more fun color combinations on this Christmas tree charcuterie board, so remember that when you are looking for items in your chosen colors.
And don't forget about the "star" on top. I used fruity candies to mimic a real star on top of the tree.
What You'll Need
- Mint Oreo Cookies, regular ones works if you can't find mint
- Green tree gummies
- Holiday Hershey kisses in green foil and grinch patterns
- Peeps Christmas trees
- White gummy candies
- Green M&Ms
Santa Hat Charcuterie Board
This Santa hat candy board is simply adorable. I chose to follow the pattern of a typical Santa hat in a red and white color scheme. Because this tray has a smaller portioned area, I opted to eliminate any serving dishes and just fill it with finger foods. It's the perfect holiday charcuterie board to leave out for Santa!
What You'll Need
- White gummy candies
- Santa style Hershey kisses
- Red velvet store-bought cookies
- Peeps - red stockings
- Cinnamon Santas
- White mini marshmallows
- White chocolate-covered pretzels
Peppermint bark is another good option if you need some different white alternatives, or white frosted Christmas cookies.
Hot Chocolate Dessert Charcuterie
A hot chocolate charcuterie board is a good alternative if you don't want various types of candy. It is also really nice for more official settings, like an office Christmas party or church brunch. But if you really love the idea of a drink charcuterie and want to go a little bit bigger than a charcuterie board, you can also try out one of my favorite hot chocolate bars, delicious recipe included!
For this themed charcuterie board, you'll definitely want to include a few small serving bowls or cute dishes to hold your chocolate mix and small peppermint bits. I used a round, large wooden board as my charcuterie base and included items that would be delicious mixed into hot chocolate.
I also included a few dessert items in different shapes to provide some alternate textures. The Christmas tree chocolate bombs are super cute! I found them at Target, as well as the chocolate dipped spoons. But you could also easily make your own and cut down on cost.
What You'll Need
- Red and silver Hershey kisses
- Hot cocoa powder in different flavors
- Peppermint candy canes
- Mini marshmallows
- Chocolate dipped spoons
- Chocolate tree bombs
- Oreo cookies
- White chocolate-dipped pretzels
- Vanilla sugar wafer cookies
