Why Create a Stunning Fall Mantel?
Fireplace mantels are one of the easiest ways to creating a main focal point for your living room or family room. It's also a great way to add a seasonal feel and cozy vibes to your space. Plus, sometimes I get bored with my traditional decor and holiday decorating is a nice way to change up different styles.
However, creating a pretty mantel is tricky because this can also be the space where your TV is. (For stylish decorating around your TV, see the link here.) But as it is the autumn season, here are a great selection of some of my favorite fall mantels. Incorporate some of these ideas into your own home if you are needing a little extra inspiration.

Favorite Fall Mantels
Simple Fall Mantel Decor
Some of the most beautiful mantels are often the most simple. You may recognize this space as my keeping room next to the open kitchen. I love this fireplace wall because it provides a lot of visual interest with its pop of charcoal against the white. Plus, it extends all the way to the high ceiling which makes it an awesome focal point for the room.
Because this wall is really the main design element, a simple, yet modern fall mantel is ideal for this living room. The decorative mirror provides a main statement piece that is then surrounded with minimal decor, including fall floral, leaves and candlesticks. The natural wood and golden hues go wonderfully with the fall color palette.
Faux leaves are a good option to show off those typical fall colors that everyone loves. The candlesticks and antique books provide added height and variety.
Cozy Farmhouse
Doesn't everyone love a cozy living room? This fall fireplace is stylish with its cozy farmhouse mantel decor. The emphasis on natural colors is evident with the pops of white contrasting the silver and brown hues. The wood elements portray a rustic style that is prominent in farmhouse decorating. Plus, tossing in pillows or throws is a fantastic way to bring in that cozy feel.
Muted Greens
Another simple idea that turns out stunning is limiting your color palette and focusing solely on a few colors. This gorgeous sage coloring from So Much Better With Age is so beautiful! I love these pale green and white pumpkins mixed with the simple greenery and the natural wood centerpiece. What a wonderful tribute to a warm and earthy rustic look.
Bright and Colorful Mantel
Why not go a little more nontraditional with this modern glam of color? Anyone who knows me knows that I love this turquoise shade. This mantel is so pretty with all the vibrant colors and fun garland strands. Talk about a bright and colorful space!
Teal and Burgundy Color Scheme
Look familiar? I love my teal and burgundy floral and pumpkin decor that was used on the mantel of my remodeled home. For easy fall mantel decorating, simply pick a prominent fall color and one accent color to change it up and bring some unique style.
I also love to decorate with pitchers because it brings more variety to a traditional vase. This is an inexpensive way to bring in more decor if you already own a few pitchers.
Warm Woods
If you love a rustic theme, this mantel spotlights natural wood and gorgeous browns and taupes. The space looks so cozy with all of the wooden accents, including windows, pumpkins and garland.
Fall Mantel in Rainbow
How about rainbow pumpkins? This idea takes simplicity to a whole new level and really explores some creativity. What a fun take on a colorful mantel. This is a great idea for anyone who absolutely adores color!
White Theme
A white themed mantel can look very classy and elegant while emanating soft and cozy vibes. The soft white pumpkins and cream accents look beautiful on this fall mantel from Refresh Restyle! The white pumpkins are elegantly styled along the wood mantel and below in the fireplace hearth.
Traditional Fall Colors
This mantel below features classic fall colors of orange, brown and gold. My eye is immediately drawn to the autumn centerpiece. A fall wreath is a fantastic way to be big and bold with a stunning focal point. Plus, the colorful fall leaves on either side are ideal for framing in the space towards the center point.
Comfy Farmhouse Mantel
Now this mantel from I Dream of Homemaking just sings fall farmhouse to me. I love the cascading florals and beautiful orange throughout. Any sign like this is going to make a fun statement.
But it doesn't have to be a sign. Fall pictures are all the rage and a beautiful fall landscape on your mantel would set the stage for your home decor.
A Little Black and White
And of course, I can't leave out a classy black and white theme to tie over fall and Halloween. I love the elegance of using only black and white for your decorations. The white stands out just as much as the black. I have used mostly pumpkins for the mantel, as well as some candleholders, bats and branches from my yard.
Classic Halloween
And here we used a classic Halloween theme to spook up this mantel and living room space. I opted for large neutral signs and then utilized the wall space above to stretch the focal point higher into the room. Throw in a smattering of white and orange pumpkins along with our resident skeleton and this room is a classic taste of All Hallow's Eve.
