Choosing the Perfect Natural Wood Vanity for Your Style
When it comes to choosing the perfect high quality natural wood vanity for your bathroom, it's essential to consider your personal style and the overall aesthetic you want to achieve in the space. Whether you prefer a unique look with intricate carvings and a warm, honey-toned wood or a more contemporary feel with a sleek finish and clean lines, there are countless options to choose from.
Consider the size of your bathroom, the layout of the space, and the existing decor to ensure that your natural wood furniture complements the overall design seamlessly. By selecting a bathroom vanity that speaks to your style preferences, you can set the foundation for a cohesive and visually appealing bathroom space.
Keep these additional factors in mind when thinking of innovative designs in your vanity:
- Single sink bathroom vanity or double sink vanities
- Open shelf or cabinet doors - single or double doors? Soft-close drawers or not?
- Type of wood - Driftwood finish, custom walnut, solid fir wood, solid barnwood, white oak, hickory wood, birch, maple
- Visible wood grain or not
- Vanity tops - quartz countertop, white Carrara marble top, granite, laminate, natural, cultured marble countertop
My Honest Review
We used a great company for our beautiful custom cabinets. Foxwood made sure we had a great experience by going the extra mile with our desired cabinet features, so I was one happy customer.
Custom builds are not always an option for your budget. If that is the case, still try to stick with higher end companies like Pottery Barn or West Elm for your bathroom furniture because it sees a lot of wear and tear. And you can usually get free shipping on larger items like vanities.
When deciding which finish to go with I ultimately went with natural wood for my vanity cabinets. I wanted the natural beauty of wood to shine against our modern upgrades. Unfortunately, painted vanities can chip easier, especially when water is present.
My vanities are quarter sawn white oak with an oil finish on them. I went with an oil finish because I didn't want the oak to yellow like it does with other top coats. Keep in mind an oil finish does have to be kept up, which can be a nuisance. However, I just add a coat of furniture wax to them every 6 months or so and they have been fine.
Creating a Modern Oasis with Natural Wood Accents
To create a modern oasis with natural wood accents in your bathroom, consider incorporating sleek, minimalist elements. These can be options such as geometric light fixtures, polished metal hardware, and clean lines in your design. These modern touches will complement the warmth of the natural wood vanity, creating a chic and sophisticated space that exudes relaxation and style.
The light wood pairs well with the finishing touches in my son's black and white bathroom. Sticking with neutral coloring emphasizes the minimalist elements. We opted for geometric lines in sleek metal handles and shower hardware, tiling and even in the painted wall pattern. The minimal design style greatly complements the warmth of the wood.
Accessorize to Complement Your Natural Wood Vanity Bathroom
Add Textiles
To complete the look of your bathroom centered around a natural wood vanity, focus on accessorizing to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space. Leave plenty of space for utilizing a variety of textiles.
Consider adding elements like soft, fluffy towels in earthy tones or crisp whites to complement the warmth of the wood. A plush bath mat in a coordinating color can tie the look together while providing a comfortable spot to step out onto.
Incorporate Natural Elements
Don't mistake the power of an organic element. In addition to textiles, consider incorporating natural elements such as plants or botanical prints to bring a touch of the outdoors inside. Greenery can add a refreshing pop of color and create a sense of tranquility in the space. Alternatively, artwork featuring nature scenes or serene landscapes can enhance the overall ambiance and tie in with the rustic yet modern feel of the wood vanity.
Finishing Hardware
Furthermore, the choice of fixtures and hardware can make a big impact on the overall look of your bathroom. Opt for sleek, modern pieces in finishes like brushed nickel or matte black to complement the natural wood tones of the vanity. Coordinate these elements with the rest of your accessories for a cohesive and polished look.
I opted for gold finishes in my daughter's boho bathroom to complement the wood tones and nature themed design.
