I have been wanting to dive into this blank canvas for a year now! Well, the day has finally come!!!

I got the room all cleaned up and now it is the fun part, bringing it to life!

I am sure this room will turn into the teen hang out. Which is great, I want my kids to hang out at our house. I have been worried about how well this area will hold up to teenagers. I have done lots of research and I feel like I have found some awesome products to create a space I can have a peace of mind about.

Flooring

I was most worried about my flooring. I didn't want to be scrubbing messes out of carpet or worrying about a scratched wood floor. you can imagine my excitement when I found NovaFloors LVT. Look at all of these options.

They have marble looking tiles, all different kinds of wood colors and textures. They even have different size planks to choose from.

NovaFloor's LVT is waterproof, pet friendly, it has a natural wood texture and it has the pad already attached making installation so much easier. Plus, it has a rigid core which helps to hide the imperfections of a subfloor, making the prep work so much easier. Now for the hard part how to choose?

Mood Board

For this room I chose the French Oak Almond Flooring in the dansbee collection. I want this room to be moody with lots of contrast. Darker flooring and darker walls will help to accent the fun design elements in the bonus room as well.

To lighten the space so it isn't too dark moody I am adding in a light grey couch with some light throw pillows. I will use a lighter rug with lots of variation to hide stains. A big white round table for playing games on. A few wood accents to bring the wood tone up from the floor. To top it off I will add some greenery for a touch of color!

I am so excited to get going on this project! I hope you will come along too!
