Create a patriotic front porch that is sure to impress this year.
Between Memorial Day and July celebrations, it's a great time to put patriotic decorations on display. The early summer season is ideal for embellishing your outdoor space with July 4th decorations. Let's take a look at easy 4th of July yard decoration ideas that will make a stylish statement on your front porch this summer.
Outdoor 4th of July Decorations
- Bunting or Pleated fan flag
- Star Wreaths
- Flags for planter
- Doormat
- Throw pillows
- Throw blanket
- Large American flag
Patriotic Bunting
Patriotic bunting, or pleated fan flags are perfect for 4th of July yard decoration ideas. This bold patriotic fabric makes a big impact on your space regardless of patio or porch size. Bunting flags are a fun way to dress up your July porch. Use them hanging from your eaves or drape across your porch railing.
To hang these I used command strips, so they can easily be removed without damage. I found these Independence Day decorations on Amazon for a great deal so I snatched them up. (view them here) These provide an amazing punch of patriotic colors for all to see.
Patriotic Wreath
Another fun option is displaying July wreaths on your front door. What better way to greet your visitors than with a dose of patriotic spirit for your July celebration.
On my front doors I added a star shape wreath over the top of my white tulip wreaths for a layered look. The vibrant reds really pop against the white flowers underneath. If you don't have wreaths to layer the star wreath would be so cute by themselves as well.
Patriotic Planters for 4th of July Yard Decoration
Flowers
If you really want to get creative, strategically plan for patriotic outdoor decorations with your planter containers. Choose a floral palette for your pots that focuses on blue flowers, white flowers and red flowers.
Here are a few floral options that are great for planters:
- white petunias
- white vinca
- blue lobelias
- red, white or blue pansies
- beautiful red poppies
- daisies
Planters
Another easy way to bring in these primary colors is through your flower pots. The copper hues tie in nicely to the red palette. A white or blue flowerpot are also a great option for these outdoor areas.
Small American Flags
In my planters I added these cute small flags. I found them at Home Depot for under a buck. These small American flags make wonderful festive touches to your patriotic planters. You will have the best looking 4th of July yard decoration.
4th of July Yard Decoration Doormat
Celebrate America's birthday with a little rug festivity. Changing out rugs is a great way to add 4th of July decor because they are super inexpensive and easy to store. This rug was $12 at Target.
Throw Pillows in Patriotic Colors
Throw pillows are an excellent option for bringing in color and comfort to your outdoor decorations. I added a cute pillow and throw to my porch swing where we spend a lot of time in during summer. Throw blankets are another item you can use to soften the space while adding style and texture.
I also added in a touch of blue decorations with the blue floral pillow covers on the chairs that tie all of your 4th of July decor together. Something bright and fun is a great option for the outdoors.
Here are a few options for beautiful throw pillows to tie in all of your patriotic decor for your 4th of July yard decoration!
