How to Decorate a Bedroom for Christmas

Nov 23, 2019 · Leave a Comment

I don't usually go all out in my kids rooms. But this is the only tree in our house this year since we are living with my aunt. My daughter was lucky enough to get it in her room.

We actually didn't have a tree. Correction, we do have a tree or 2 or 3, but they are at the very bottom back corner of our storage shed. Instead of unpacking the entire storage shed I opted for this $40 tree from Walmart. Yup you heard that right. I only paid $40 for this tree. (check it out here)

How to Decorate a Bedroom for Christmas

When adding Christmas to a bedroom... you can go all out or keep it simple. This year I am only decorating 2 bedrooms so I did kind of go all out. But I will give you some simple ideas below.

Add Throws and Pillows

Do you want to add a touch of Christmas to your bedrooms? Adding pillows and throws will do just that. I got these darling pillows from Krumpets as well. They are reversible so I can use them year around. If you want to take it a little further you can add a fun tray to the end of your bed too. I kept this simple by adding some juniper stems in a vase, a peppermint garland I made and this cute reindeer from Krumpets Home Decor.

Add a Tree

You don't have to buy an expensive tree or a gigantic tree for that matter. As we have already discussed this tree was only $40. To decorate this tree I first started out with ribbon (ribbon tutorial here) I then added filler items like other pine branches. Next I added my ornaments. I got these cute reindeers, santas, ornaments and pom poms from Krumpets Home Decor. After my main ornaments were in I added my red berries and then the fun branches that I spraying out of the tree. To top it off I added a fun tree topper (tutorial here)

Hang a Sign

This believe sign is perfect for a few reasons

  • It is super lightweight so I hung it with command strips
  • It is double sided, I can use it year around. The other side says Family is Forever.

An easy way to add a fun flair to a sign is to add a garland. Like this cute pom pom garland from Krumpets Home Decor.

Christmas PJ's

I know, I know this has nothing to do with bedroom decor. But look how fun it is to have Christmas PJ's that match... ha ha. It has always been a fun tradition to buy my kids matching Christmas Pj's. As luck would have it they matched the bedroom! Get your Pj's here
