How to Create a Relaxing Spa-Like Master Bathroom

Finally take the time to relax in your tranquil master bathroom.

At the end of a long day there is nothing quite as relaxing as soaking in a freestanding bathtub. Throw in some chocolate, Netflix and a favorite beverage and you have the perfect lap of luxury. And after a hard day of adulting or parenting, you deserve nothing short of an evening of tranquility. Treat yourself with a relaxing spa-like master bathroom fit for royalty.

Create the Perfect Setting for Your Spa-Like Bathroom

It's important to create the perfect setting in order to achieve a spa-like bathroom. These are optional decorative supplies that will make a big difference when styling your luxury space.

Decorative Supplies

  • Jars
  • Soap Dispensers
  • Scrub brush
  • Candle
  • Candle holder
  • Vase
  • Stems
  • Towel

Soft Textiles

Any bathroom you walk into will have a selection of textiles that emphasize the style. Pick towels and fabrics that will set the mood you are desiring for your bathroom. When in doubt with color choice, go with neutrals. The white and charcoal combination of the towel and stool are a nice neutral color palette that add elegance.

Candles and Holders

Enjoying a bath by candlelight? What could be more helpful in creating a peaceful atmosphere? Whether it's candlesticks, twinkle lights or tea lights, a little bit of light can create tranquil ambience.

Vases and Greenery

Adding greenery is always a good suggestion when creating an elegant neutral space. This is a trend that will never go out of style. Using plants and flowers will bring a bit of nature into your space, making it feel more fresh, natural and inviting.

Fancy Containers

Changing out your store-packaged liquids can easily add to the elegance of your spa-like bathroom. Simply replace your store containers with solid jars or pumps that don't have a label or writing. This will take the bathroom sophistication up a notch. Look at how classy that bath salt jar is!

Spa-Like Luxury Features

Flooring

The best introduction to a luxurious spa-like bathroom starts with a superior floor. Natural stone was a big priority on our list for creating an exquisite space to relax. I opted for a beautiful gray and white marble tile with slight hues of gold.

This flooring really establishes the setting for our desired bathroom theme. We also continued the marble tile into our shower as well.

Shower Head

Having a high quality rain shower head is a top must-have when creating a spa-like bathroom. What could be worse than having a shower that looks amazing, but has horrible water pressure or function because of low quality supplies.

Do yourself a favor and pick a decent valued brand that will truly give yourself a relaxing spa experience. We have the Brizo rain head and have no regrets.

Bathtub

Choosing a freestanding tub versus an attached bathtub is one way to create more of a spa-like vibe in your bathroom. A freestanding tub will always allow you to showcase more of the beauty and classic features of the tub. With a striking visual display like that, you can never doubt the luxurious design.

The flexibility of placement and customizing size are additional perks. I am a firm believer that every spa-like master bathroom needs to have a tub to relax in at the end of the day.

Countertop

Continue using natural stone throughout your bathroom features for elegance, like a marble slab on countertop. I love the solid marble for our countertop. It's a beautiful design that is stylish, but not too busy for a bathroom.

Vanity Accent Wall

While you can leave a bathroom wall painted or tiled, I like to add a little something extra for design. I chose to use molding and paint for our vanity area accent wall. The shadow box design adds an extra element of dimension and texture to the space.

Vanity

What's not to love about this custom vanity design? Going with a custom piece is always going to add elegance to your bathroom features. The floating vanity helps your room to appear more spacious. It is a modern style choice that is ideal for a luxurious master bathroom.
