I am so excited to offer my first FREE printable just in time for the Holiday season.  I designed this gather for a wood cutout in my Etsy shop listing here..... I love it so much printed on this canvas backdrop I wanted to share it with you!

The best part about this printable is it makes an awesome sign, which I made this afternoon in less than an hour!

You will need:

  1. Our gather printable (DOWNLOAD HERE)
  2. pine
  3. paint brush
  4. stain
  5. sandpaper
  6. decoupage
  7. wood glue

First download and print our gather printable.  Once it is printed cut your pine down to size.

Once you have your pine cut down add a thin layer of decoupage to your pine.  If you add too much it will make the colors of the printable bleed and fade more.

Place your printable on to the pine and slowly push it down so your printable sticks to the decoupage.  Once it has dried us the sandpaper to clean up the edges of the paper and wood.

Next cut down your pine stripes to create a frame.  I cut my pine 1 ¼" thick and then measured the lengths so it would fit around my gather.  Once everything was cut I painted my frame with grey Minimax staingatherprintable.  I am loving this grey stain......I have used it on a few other projects.....it is a keeper.

Once the stain has dried it is time to glue everything together.  Now let me just take a minute to tell you about this awesome glue.  It holds within 3 minutes and it is fully cured in 30 minutes.  I have put this glue to the test on my CNC machine and it really holds after 30 minutes.  You can buy little bottles of it at Home Depot and the big bottles on Amazon Link here (affiliate link)  I like to compare it to super glue...only for wood!

Once the glue is dried you have a beautiful gather sign!
