For Father's day the hubby wanted a cheese ball with a little kick! I combined a few of my favorite recipes, and this cheese ball with jalapeños turned out better than I thought it would.. phew.
Cheese balls are my favorite for sports parties and small get togethers where I serve finger foods.
I also like to make my toffee dip for parties. These 2 are great together for finger foods.
Ingredients for Cheese Ball with Jalapeños
This recipe is great because not much prep is needed. Just get the ingredients and dump them in. Except the jalapenos, we will dice those up.
- cream cheese
- pimento cheese spread
- medium cheddar
- onion mix
- pickled jalapeno slices
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions for Cheese Ball with Jalapeños
Add cream cheese, mayo and pimento cheese together in a bowl and mix with a mixer.
Next add half of an onion mix and 2 cups of the cheddar cheese.
Dice up roughly 4 jalapeno slices and add to the cheese mixture.
Mix everything up really well and then use an ice cream scoop to form on the plate.
Hint: you can use more of the onion soup mix for a stronger tase. My kids like it with the whole packet, but I prefer it with half. Let the dip sit for about 30 minutes to soften the onions.
Variations for Cheese Ball with Jalapeños
Playing around with different cheese ball variations is so fun and can be catered to your guest.
- Spicy - add chili pepper flakes and a few more jalapeños
- Deluxe - add bacon and green onions
I store the cheese ball with jalapeños in my fridge covered with saran wrap for up to 5 days.
Play around with the onion mix. You don't want it to be strong or bland, start with half of the packet and work from there
