Kitchens can be the most populated, messy and well-loved room out of any other in your house. In our home, this is where we gather together as a family. But because we reside here all the time, sometimes I feel the need to give it a little freshening up. So I've put together some simple decorating tips to transform your kitchen. These simple fixes will help innovate and update that room in no time!
Simple Decorating Tips to Transform Your Kitchen Space
- Rearrange shelves with a new decor theme. For any of you that have open shelving (see how I made mine here) or a display counter, changing it up can really brighten up your space. I decided to focus on a rustic theme, displaying dishes and serving pieces with copper tones in them.
My new corbels were the perfect addition to frame some of my pieces while softening the rustic appearance.
And I incorporated these gorgeous copper kitchen tools. They really give off a rustic farmhouse vibe that I love.
- Change up signs or artwork. While this may seem a very simple solution, it can change the whole look of your kitchen. I replaced my old cutout with my new homemade sign. I love this in my kitchen! It places more emphasis on the home and really pops with its vibrant black color in addition.
I also switched the sign in my pantry area to our happy place. After all, I want our home to be a sanctuary for my kids where they are safe and loved. I also love the subtle color that ties into my other light turquoise pieces.
- Bring in new floral decor. I also added in some faux floral accents from my other room that compliment my kitchen space better with the natural wood colors.
Who could resist adding fresh flowers to the mix? Fresh flowers can bring in nice pops of color while also sprucing up the room with lovely scents.
- Create a new centerpiece. As the table is especially central for where your family gathers, I like this table setting to look extra nice. So I used a wooden dough bowl as the base for my layering. This one is very similar to mine.
To complete my rustic farmhouse look, I filled it with succulents and flowers, as well as incorporating some burlap and wood beads. These rustic dough dishes are perfect for filling with decor items or using it for greenery. Furthermore, you can even fill them with finger food for a family get together.
I hope these simple fixes and decorating tips to transform your kitchen will assist in enhancing your family friendly space!
