If you’re looking for a fun, oversized Valentine decoration or gift, this giant lollipop DIY is such a hit. It’s simple to make, budget-friendly, and totally customizable with whatever candy you love most. These look adorable as party décor, or even as a Valentine surprise for kids or friends.

Best part? You only need a few basic supplies and about 20 minutes.

Supplies You’ll Need

Lollipop supplies
  • 2 clear plastic bowls (same size)
  • Lollipop stick
  • Tape (clear tape works best)
  • Candy (conversation hearts, gummy hearts, chocolates, etc.)
  • Drill
  • Hot glue gun + glue sticks
  • Cellophane
  • Ribbon

Step-by-Step Instructions

Drill the Hole

Take one of the clear plastic bowls and drill a hole directly in the center of the bottom. Make sure the hole is just big enough for the lollipop stick to fit snugly.

Attach the Lollipop Stick

Add hot glue around the drilled hole and insert the lollipop stick through the hole from the inside of the bowl. Hold it steady and let the glue cool completely so the stick is secure.

Fill with Candy

Once the stick is set, fill the bowl with candy.
You can use:

  • Conversation hearts
  • Gummy hearts
  • Chocolate kisses
  • Wrapped candies
  • Or a mix of everything

Fill it generously so the lollipop looks nice and full.

Seal the Lollipop

Place the second clear bowl over the top, lining up the edges. Use tape to secure the seams all the way around so the two bowls stay tightly together.

Wrap with Cellophane

Cut a large piece of cellophane and drape it over the entire lollipop. Gather the cellophane around the stick so it looks like a classic lollipop wrapper.

Tie with Ribbon

Tie ribbon tightly around the base of the “sucker,” right where the cellophane meets the stick. Fluff the cellophane and adjust the ribbon for a finished look.

  • Classroom parties
  • Valentine bouquets
  • Party centerpieces

You can switch up the candy, use themed ribbon, or even add a tag with a cute Valentine message.
