I have shopped the The Vintage Whites market for the last 3 years and every year I went I would always say “one day I am going to sell in this market.” Well I am happy to say that one day finally came, and I am so glad it did. I loved being part of the Vintage Whites Market. It is so well organized and it is very well attended.
(see my hubby, he is already to go!)
The preparation for a market is always a little stressful and exciting all at the same time. I always wonder if I have a enough stuff or the right kind of stuff. This year I went with a variety. I brought lots of my treasures I had been hoarding as well as some of my refinished furniture. I also brought a few signs I had made up, like the blessed, and a lot of them unfinished. And to my surprise my finished signs sold first and fast. I honestly thought it would be the other way around, but it was good to talk to people and get some feed back on my designs.
My wallpapered wall ended up being a hit. I had so many people commenting on it and wanting to touch it. It created the perfect backdrop for my booth and helped me create a style.
This market I wanted to stay true to style. I wanted my booth to be full of things I would use in my home. This turned out to be a little bit harder of a task then I had anticipated. As people were buying things I found myself saying, “oh, I kind of wished this didn’t sell” a little too often. But I kept reminding myself, “there is always another one”, and a lot of this stuff I had been storing for years hoping to find a place for it….so it was time to say goodbye.
If you have not figured it out yet I am a total sucker for white dishes. They are so beautiful and I love the 3 different sized here, they look so great together. Surprisingly enough they didn’t sell…which I am not heartbroken about in the least. I think they will find a home in my hutch!
The hubby and I made these doors freestanding to house my signs and added extra storage. Whenever you have to create your own booth it is always a good idea to get as many things off the floor and at eye level as you can. I find the things that are at eye level sell faster. As soon as something sells in a prime spot I will rearrange and put something there to keep my booth looking nice in hopes to pull more people in.
One of my most favorite parts of a market is getting to meet new people. It was so great to finally meet and work with Vanessa and Jana. They run an awesome market if you have a chance you NEED to go!
And I have to thank my wonderful hubby. He doesn’t love to be out in the garage but he keeps all the behind the scenes things running. He makes dinner almost every night, does the laundry and dishes and always seems to pick up the pieces I missed. I couldn’t do what I do without him.
Last, but not least, thank you to everyone who stopped by! It was so great to meet so many of you, it is always fun to see a friendly face!
