My daughter asked if she could have a tea party yesterday, which of course requires the table to be set. So I took the opportunity to create a spring tablescape. It has been awhile since I have set the table all fancy…….Having a little boy who is almost 2 puts a kink in a lot of my decorating plans. After he was down for his nap my daughter and I got to work to create the perfect table for our tea party.
Every tea party needs some fresh flowers. Lucky for us these big beautiful tulips were blooming in our backyard so we cut a few for our centerpiece.
Rather then place the silverware next to the plates we opted to leave them in their jars.
She picked out a few of her favorite dishes. I don’t let them play with my glass dishes, so she was rather excited to put these on the table. And of course she pick my 3 favorite dishes!
This teapot with the gold edging is my all time favorite find! It has the most beautiful details and curves.
This little sugar bowl is my only piece of ironstone, they are hard to come by in Utah, so when I found this piece I bought it….no questions asked!
And we even pulled out her great great grandma’s breakfast dishes. I love the shape and details on these dishes, they were perfect for our spring tablescape
Here is a look at the whole area.
We used some of my turquoise dishes so it would blend with the kitchen. I would say we did a pretty good impromptu spring tablescape.
And do you want to know what we served at our tea party?
Cheese puffs, chips and salsa and cherry limeade all of my daughters favorite things. She was in heaven to say the least….and I enjoyed spending one on one time with her!!
