Spring Organization.... Functional and Pretty?

I always get the itch to clean and organize in the spring.  My goal this year was for everything to have a place.  If it didn't have a place I got rid of it.

If you are like me, when you think of storage you think of boxes and totes but I wanted to make my storage function and pretty.  Is that even a thing?  Let's take a look.

Table of Contents

  • Dresser Organization
  • Paper Organization
  • Cabinet Organization
  • Countertop Organization
  • Spice Cabinet
  • Makeup Organization

Dresser Organization

On our dresser my husband and I always leave or collagen and perfume out.  But it gets messy looking and somehow ends up spread all over the dresser.  So I found this cute divided storage basket at Walmart that houses all of those things and adds texture to the space as well.

Paper Organization

Papers, papers oh how I hate papers.  I always have papers everywhere and they look so messy.  So when I found this wire paper holder I snatched it up and started filling it with papers... but that still kind of looked messy too.  So I found these cute file folders and now look how cute my papers look.  Instead of an eye sore it is a decorative piece.

Cabinet Organization

I am kind of bad when it comes to cabinets, just close the doors and no one will know what is behind there.  Well that is until things start falling out because they are so full... oops.  Slowly I have started buying clear containers with rubber seals to keep my baking items in.  They make organization so much easier and I know how much of something I have left.  For the smaller things I put them in the wicker basket so they are contained but still organized and looking pretty.

Countertop Organization

Who has sugar and flour and noodles and beans laying around. This girl!!  Why not make them decor!  I found these large jars and filled them up, I used noodles and beans for a different texture and color.  I also got this mug holder and started buying mugs that would match my decor to store here.

I also have loved having this plate rack to store my dishes.  I don't like much decor in my kitchen, but I do love displaying the things we use all the time.

Spice Cabinet

Who knew spices could look so cute?  I poured all of my spices into spice jars and used my label maker to print new labels.  They now fit in this drawer so much easier, they are easier to find and they look great too!

Makeup Organization

I used to just throw all of my make up and brushed into a drawer and call it good.  Well when I went to use my make up the next day I was always digging through everything trying to find something which was getting on my nerves.  So I thought, I store pens and pencils in a sugar mold... why not make up?  Oh I have loved it.  I can see everything so much easier and it keeps my brushes nice and fluffy too.
