I am here again with round 3 of the Shop Your House Challenge.  If you are new to this challenge, for 3 months myself  and 5 other bloggers:

Iris Nacole

A House and A Blog

We will shop our houses to create a new feel to our spaces using only the items we already have in our homes.

I have loved this challenge, our family room has seemed to be the collection spot for all the left over items I can't bring myself to get rid of.  It has been so good to rearrange and make these items really come to life.  If you remember from last month I tackled the sitting corner.  So this month I moved on to the chest in the other corner.

This chest is one of my favorite refinishes ever, I had refinished it with the intention of selling it but once I finished it I couldn't let it go.  I love it in this little corner but I wanted to add a little character to the top to make it stand out.

I collected random items from around my house and clumped them all together!  I love the height the candlesticks bring in.  I brought in texture with my shutter and I added a bit of spring with the nests and fresh hydrangeas.  To offset the elegance of the gold I used a galvanized bucket for my flowers and brought in this metal vintage scale to create a rustic elegant feel to this vignette.

familyroom-5

I do love the look of tone on tone but I always like to bring in little pops of color.  To do that I added this duck egg blue candlestick to match the eggs.  I am so pleased with how this turned out I think I will just leave everything right where it is for awhile!!
