Ever since we moved in it has drove me crazy that these bi-fold doors are different sizes. When the first door broke I went and got pricing for a new one and I found out I need a custom size…which is not cheap.
Rather then buy a new one we were just down a door until we could afford to do what I really wanted. Then another one broke making it harder to hide my mess so I decided it was time to rip it all out!!
Our kitchen is an add on…see the far pantry? That were the fridge used to be, so we have water and power in there….I think it is time we put it to use. I also didn’t like that these 2 closets are separate by this wall….so….
I decided to tear it all out one day while my husband was at work, we had talked about it….he just didn’t know when it was happening.
I was worried this outside post was weight bearing, before I tore it down I had a contractor come make sure I could take it out! Once he told me it was NOT weight bearing I got to work!! GOODBYE USELESS WALL!
Warning….demo is VERY VERY messy. I have been dusting and vacuuming for DAYS now.
And here is what it looks like now. Instead of having 2 broken doors now we live out of boxes….better right? Ha Ha. Our electrician is coming tomorrow to move our power and add a few lights!
Since we have water and power in our pantry I wanted to put it to use. My husband has always wanted an ice maker and I wanted to move our mini fridge from the kitchen into our pantry, so we have decided to turn half of our pantry into a beverage station. We are going to have shaker cabinets, square hardware and butcher block countertops
The other half is going to be a homework station for our kids. Our electrician is installing 2 of these barn lights over the desk which will also be a butcher block top with shaker cabinets underneath and open shelves above. I am getting so excited I can’t wait!!
