Sometimes when you want to make a change to your decor, the simplest fixes are the best options for giving rooms a facelift. A few years ago we redid our master bathroom. At the time I had so much going on and though it wasn’t my preference, I hung our black mirror because I just needed to get something up temporarily. I never liked the black and felt like it stood out more than I wanted. Three years later I finally made a change to our master bathroom mirror!
Master Bathroom Mirror Update
After much debate and media input, we decided to take our master bathroom mirror and paint it gold!! If you would have told me 3 years ago I would be painting something gold I would have called you crazy and reassured you that would never ever happen. But gold has grown on me and I love my mirror gold.
It makes the space brighter and you can see the beautiful details of the frame much better. If you are looking to update a frame, gold is a great option and is quickly becoming a popular color for neutral accents.
Simple Fixes to Update Rooms
- Change up lighting
- Paint walls
- Add trim or new baseboards
- Put up mirrors to make the room look bigger
- Add curtains to windows to bring in more color and style
- Use greenery or faux flowers for decor
- Change out existing hardware
I used Rustoleum’s Metallic Gold to spray the entire frame, and then I used a dark brown glaze to make the details pop!
Our bathroom has come so far! I am so pleased with the progress, there are still a few things I want to do…of course. But it is almost there, you can see what it looked like when we moved in here.
