Home Tour

We bought our home 4 years ago.  Over the last 4 years we have been ripping out and redoing this house to turn it into our home.  It has been a labor of love to say the least, but I love that I can say we have done most of the work ourselves.  There is still lots that needs to be done, but it is coming along slowly but surely.  On that note

Welcome to our home………..

This is our entry.  I love my painted floor and pine plank flooring.  They are the perfect touch of rustic.  The pine planks do ding easily, but we called it added character.  It is nice to not have to worry about my flooring with my kids.

I am not a huge fan of living rooms so we turned ours into an office.  I have loved having it here, and the big desk helps with keeping everything cleaned.

Our kitchen/dining room was what sold me on our house.  I love how big and open it is.  It makes family gatherings so much easier.

We took the cabinet over the bar down and replaced it with open shelves.  It really opened up the space and now I have a spot for my dishes!

I collected my barstools from various thrift stores and painted them with Quarry by Pratt and Lambert

Our laundry room is a hallway to our garage.  So, if I haven’t done laundry for a week (which happens more then I like to admit) there is no way you are getting out the garage door.  We stacked our washer and dryer and built these built in’s to maximize our storage in this small room.

The half bath on our main floor is small and odd shaped but

Now Lets head upstairs….

At the top of our stairs is our landing where you will find doors, doors and more doors.  I love that this space is so open but it makes decorating a little difficult.  There isn’t much room for furniture so I went the gallery wall route and added minimal furniture.

My gallery wall is a collection of things I have collected over the years.  Most of them have meaning and represent many things that make us a family.

This is my daughters room.  I don’t love having a shared room but for now it works.  I built these beds from Ana White’s plan.  I wanted their room to be bright and cheery so I painted their dresser and bed fun colors and I made them their quilts.

Baby brother’s nursery was a labor of love and kept me distracted during pregnancy, I am one of those sick head in the toilet kind of ladies.  I made all of his bedding, refinished his dresser and spent a lot of time shopping {that always helped my pregnancy blues}

We gutted the kids bathroom.  My husband laid this tile and installed the new free standing vanity.  I added the above the toilet cabinet and I love the extra storage it offers.  I am not a huge fan of themed spaces but I wanted to add a little bit of color with the shower curtain and rug.

We torn the old vanity and mirror out of our master bathroom and replaced it with this beautiful free standing vanity.  I love how this gold mirror compliments the vanity without being to matchy matchy

The walls are painted in Putty by Pratt and Lambert.

We went with towel hooks in all of our bathrooms.  I love that they are a both functional and decorative.
