DIY: Glazing with a Stain
- Mix 1 part Minwax’s Dark Walnut stain with 2 parts Valspar’s Clear Mixing Glaze.
- Paint your furniture piece with desired color.
- I wanted white to show through so I first primed it and then painted the pink over the top.
- Allow paint to dry.
- Brush your stain mixture all over your piece. While adding the mixing glaze does increase your working time, it still dries faster than a regular glaze. Have wet wipes on hand to wipe off quickly. If you are completing a bigger piece, for example my stools, pick an area and paint on the stain glaze mixture then wipe it off before moving to another area.
And there you go!
And look at the difference, instant antiquing!
