Spring cleaning has been a little different for me this year. Instead of decluttering our home and deep cleaning my blinds, I am following contractors around trying to keep the mess minimal. (All the while simultaneously singing hallelujah I don’t have any toilets to deep clean… yet).
I am always on the lookout for items that will make cleaning my house easier even while in building mode, since I can’t stand to spend 3/4 of my day cleaning and picking up after people. So I had to share some of my recent favorites (and actually use!) for making my life easier in this department!!
Say so long to all those kitchen brooms! This vacuum from Eureka has been ideal for keeping my new wood floors clean. I love being able to use a vacuum on hardwood as well as carpet. And I am super impressed with how powerful the suction is. It is picking up all that nasty fine dust! There is also an LED light on the head which helps me to make sure I don’t miss a spot! I love the different tool heads that allow me to really get into those small spaces and deep crevices. You can make it portable to clean areas like your blinds and even your car. And bonus, it’s nice to finally own a vacuum that does not weigh a TON and kill my arm pushing it!
One Clean Home is one of my new favorite household cleaners. I love that it sprays out like foam – I can actually see where it goes instead of shooting spray all over the place. And you can use this on multiple surfaces which is definitely more budget friendly than buying numerous products for different rooms. But even better, it is formulated with all natural products and scented with essential oils. It cleans better than vinegar and water, but is less harmful than competitive products. That’s a total win in my book! Get yours here
Mr Clean’s Magic Erasers with Durafoam have been my lifesaver for years! Seriously, what would any mom do without having a stash of these in their house. I have used them on my walls to get off permanent marker. They have erased the mess on light switch covers. Most recently I have been using them on my window frames to get them nice and clean! Are your dishes not getting as clean as you hoped? Or maybe there is a nasty film that is left on them after you pull them out of the dishwasher? I was having that problem too. I had my dishwasher serviced, cause it started on fire. And the tech that came to fix it told me about Lemi – Shine dish detergent booster. This amazing stuff helps to eliminate all the hard water (magnesium and calcium) and other nasties to make sure your dishes are clean and shiny.
Booster Instructions: load dishes and glassware. Fill main receptacle with Lemi Shine Booster. Fill pre- wash receptacle with Lemi Shine detergent. (If only one receptacle is present, place detergent in bottom of dishwasher.) Start dishwasher as normal.
