Wow, what a year 2017 was for DIY home renovations. I definitely crossed a lot of things off my list that had been waiting way too long to get done! Now on to 2018 and completing my other list of projects, right? You can see all of my completed projects for this year below.
My 2017 DIY Home Renovations
First up was our pantry in our kitchen. This pantry was the "collect all" place that needed to be more functional so we opened it all up! As a result, it serves as a great place to do homework and it still houses all the left over items from the kitchen, giving me more usable storage space for what we needed.
You can see the full transformation here.
Our Living Room
One of the mishaps with this room is that it didn't have light before, so when we opened up the wall of the pantry we were able to run a wire for the light. How I love having a light in this room! This room used to be our office, but I needed a room where I could take pictures and if people came to visit that they could come in and sit down! Consequently, my kids are very good about staying off my white couch and chair. I have even overheard them tell their friends they are forbidden to go in that room. he he You can see the full reveal here.
Painting the Outside of our House
As of now, this was by far the biggest project I have completed to date. But it is also my all-time favorite. I have been amazed at how much painting our house has changed the whole look of our home! You can see how we painted the brick here and the pergola here.
My Entry Way
While painting the outside was my most difficult, I was grateful to have this be my easiest transformation... as all I did was change out the decor on this table. But I really like how the chicken wire frame looks with my weathered wood (tutorial here) and my handwritten welcome sign (buy here) . I found this old ammo box and painted it with Sweet Pickens Sweet Jane Milk Paint (we are selling milk paint now here). Milk paint sticks perfectly to old metal, you can see the full tutorial here.
My half bath is one of my favorite DIY home renovations. It was an easier week long renovation that had a big impact. I love the new light fixtures and the glass tile walls mixed with the grey wood inspired tiles. You can see the full renovation here.
Also, don't forget my half finished bathroom that I thought was going to be the death of me. From the bad tile job I tore out and redid to trying to find a shower door, this seems to be the renovation that never ends... ha ha... hopefully 2018 is the year for this bathroom.
